Ahdaf Soueif

I recently watched the talk on Art and Politics given by Egyptian author Ahdaf Soueif at the 2013 Perth Writers Festival on ABC Big Ideas. Her talk and recent work Cairo: My City Our Revolution recounts experiences of the revolution through the art and graffiti that arose in response to the beatings and killings.

My drawing is a tribute to this remarkable woman and the brave people of Egypt. Her talk was truly moving and an inspiration.
